House of 7 Gables #1351.Puritan Colonel Pyncheon steals prime real estate from Matthew Maule in the 17th century. Before his execution, Maule cursed the Colonel and his descendents. So after the Colonel builds his house with seven gables, he dies making the curse a reality. In the 19th century, Hepzibah Pyncheon lives alone and starving in the house. Her brother Clifford is in prison. So, Hepzibah opens a store in an old part of the house. Phoebe Pyncheon, shows up to help her; she runs the store and when Clifford returns from his long imprisonment, Phoebe charms him as well. Things start to look up when yet another tragedy strikes the family.
